Oreo Sundae Brownies

Filed under: We Can't Cook — whiskersinkitchens @ 11:44 am

Because we can’t cook, we started these out very simply. One box of brownie mix – check. One bag of Oreos – check. Mix brownie mix, pour in pan until half full. Line Oreos in rows, pour remaining batter over Oreos. Drool, bake, eat til full.

Since then we’ve experimented a bit, but EASILY so even we could have gourmet looking treats if we wanted to.

With the above recipe, you can add almost anything….mint chocolate chips, crushed peppermint candy, peanut butter chips, crush the oreos and sprinkle on top while substituting peanut butter cups in the brownie mix…or Rolos….with frosting or without…you get the idea.

Feel free to stick to that recipe. This one amps it up a notch. 🙂

  • 1 box Brownie Mix
  • eggs & oil (as called for by the brownie mix)
  • six oz (about 3/4 cup) Cookies & Cream ice cream – softened
  • 1/4 Cup hot fudge topping – room temp

Preheat oven to 350 & spray an 8×8 baking dish generously with cooking spray. Combine brownie mix, eggs, and oil as directed on the back of the box — do not add the water. Add ice cream and hot fudge to the brownie batter and stir to combine. Pour half of the brownie batter into the baking dish, layer with Oreos, then top with remaining batter. Bake for 40-50 minutes or as directed on the back of the box.

Variations: the taste will change if you use different ice cream flavors (peanut butter, chocolate fudge, mint chocolate chip, peppermint)…and you can also use the different Oreo flavors (mint, chocolate, half and half…heads and tails..whatever they’re called).

–You’re welcome.
